Gascade: Yamal–Europe gas pumping rises by 25% on Wednesday
MOSCOW, Nov 10 (PRIME) -- Natural gas pumping through the Yamal–Europe pipeline to Germany rose by around 25% to 1.1 million cubic meters per hour on Wednesday from 870,000–880,000 cubic meters per hour on Tuesday, German gas transmission system operator Gascade said.
Direct pumping to Germany from Poland through the pipeline was suspended from October 30 through November 3, resumed on November 4, and suspended again on November 6 before being restarted on Monday evening.
Experts expected pumping through the pipeline to increase because Russian gas giant Gazprom planned to restore reserves in the European underground gas storages.
The 33 billion cubic meter Yamal–Europe pipeline runs to Germany from Russia through Belarus and Poland. Gazprom said previously that fluctuations in demand for Russian gas in Europe depend on the consumer needs, and that the company fulfilled all requests from the European companies.
